Dog Torturer/Murderer Michael Vick Wins Ed Block Courage Award, Given to Him by His Teammates & Has the Fucking Balls to Accept it. What's Next Mike, Going to Be the New Philadelphia Chapter President of Peta?

If you look up the words total fucking prick in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Michael Vick electrocuting a dog for the purposes of training him. It's not a big deal though, it's actually very therapeutic for them, kind of like a nice whirlpool after a heavy workout. The only difference is, after a nice whirlpool, you're not dead. But, defining Vick's character aside, I'm trying to figure out why his teammates would vote to give him the Ed Block Courage Award, knowing what he had done. What's even more confounding is the fact that he didn't have a problem @ all accepting it knowing full well what the award is given for, & obviously not fitting the parameters of what it's all about. The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of neglected children and ending the cycle of abuse. The purpose is to raise Awareness and Prevention of child abuse. That objective is coupled with the foundations commitment to celebrating players of inspiration in the NFL. I don't know, given everything we know about his exploits as a dog fighting promoter, I don't see where he exemplifies even one of the virtues associated with this award. Vick obviously knows what a joke this is too & here's how he rationalizes accepting it, “I’ve overcome a lot, more than probably one single individual can handle or bear,” Vick said. “You ask certain people to walk through my shoes, they probably couldn’t do. Probably 95 percent of the people in this world because nobody had to endure what I’ve been through, situations I’ve been put in, situations I put myself in and decisions I have made, whether they have been good or bad.

“There’s always consequences behind certain things and repercussions behind them, too. And then you have to wake up every day and face the world, whether they perceive you in the right perspective, it’s a totally different outlook on you. You have to be strong, believe in yourself, be optimistic. That’s what I’ve been able to do. That’s what I display.”

Yo, Dickhead, why would you ask anyone to walk through your shoes?(& they probably couldn't do?) Why are you trying to martyr yourself as some kind of victim? You're an animal murderer, dawg, plain & fucking simple. Everything that happened to you is your own fault & until you're chained to a tree & electrocuted, you won't ever be fully punished. Obviously, PETA is latching onto the story to villify Vick even further, stating, "The Philadelphia Eagles fumbled when they gave Michael Vick the Ed Block Courage Award, which was named after a man who advocated in behalf of abused children. "Michael Vick should not be the person anyone points to as a model of sportsmanship, even though he has now exchanged dogs for touchdowns after serving time for extreme cruelty to animals. We wish him well in educating others, but this is not appropriate and does not mark a joyous moment in NFL history." We get the point, PETA, & yes, you're right, but now, it looks as if you're just exploiting the Michael Vick saga for more publicity so you can take your nose out of it unless you can do something other than stating the obvious. Again, it's not that you're not right, I just think you've driven the point home quite enough because now many people, including dog lovers, are speaking out against your organization. So, yeah, we get it.

The Eagles didn't unanimously vote for Vick, though, he says he that he in fact, voted for someone else but wouldn't say who. The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that Vick actually thinks he's one of the more brave people out there because of the way he's handled all of his trials & tribulations, but, doesn't even publicly acknowledge his own teammate DeSean Jackson, who lost his father to cancer & dedicated his season to him. On top of that, Jackson is having a pro bowl type season despite having gone through that. In Vick's limited playing time, he hasn't really contributed to the Eagles success this year & hasn't put up good numbers. Should we feel sorry for him for that, too? All Vick did was deservedly go to jail for the really heinous shit he personally perpetrated & survived 18 months in jail, probably under close supervision to keep the other inmates off of him. Then, when he got out, had Tony Dungee lobbying with Roger Goodell to let him back in the NFL. Oh yeah, he also had to straighten up & act right in front of the commisioner in order to get reinstated. Sorry Mike, but to keep this short & sweet, I'm going to wrap this up by saying, I don't feel the slightest bit of sympathy for you & if you really were on the road to becoming a better person, you'd give that award to somebody who really deserves it...Because you don't. So Mike, unfortunately, I just have to say, I've got zero love for ya... fudge ya.
